If you need something different it might be better to try and connect an Arduino that can handle 5 volts directly to it and use the better control of the pins with it. ![]() ![]() I believe the actual baud rate is just a touch off from that but 8192 works for most things. This older protocol uses 8192 baud to connect. You connect the ground to the ground pin and combine the transmit and receive from the TTL adapter and hook them to the Dataline on the ODBI connector. It just requires a standard TTL to USB adapter. It is apparent that to build a cable to communicate with this older system is VERY simple. So I was poking around on one of my old car sites and noticed some postings about the pre '96 ODB protocol that GM used that some call ALDL. ![]()
